Hi! I'm Miss Erika!
As a New York State Certified Special Education Teacher with more than 20 years of experience working with young children, I have supported children with a wide range of developmental, behavioral, and learning needs. I am passionate about teaching social skills and emotional regulation because I have seen how much confidence, independence, and success children gain when they are given the right tools in a patient and supportive environment. My goal is to create a warm, playful space where children can build friendships, communicate their needs, manage big feelings, and feel successful.
Now, I get to teach YOUR child! I can't wait!

It’s never too early to call, so call as soon as you even think about registering, because our classes fill up ridiculously fast!
Our sessions run for 8 weeks. If we have spots available, you can enroll in the middle of a session. Please call us to see if we have any spots available.
Classes are for children who are almost 3 to age 5.
No. Children do not need to be potty trained, however if the child is not yet potty trained, we ask that you wait in the waiting room during the duration of the session incase they need to be changed.
Sometimes a child does not need formal services-but a parent's heart still says they could use a little extra support.
Happy Hearts may be a wonderful fit if your child is working on sharing, following directions, handling big feelings, joining play, communicating with others, building confidence, or becoming more comfortable in a group.
Your child does not need a diagnosis. They simply need a little extra support in a safe place to learn, practice, play, and grow at their own pace, outside of home and the regular Preschool classroom.
Each class is thoughtfully designed to feel fun and playful while building meaningful skills.
Children will participate in group meeting time, music and movement, guided activities, teacher-supported play, and opportunities to interact with peers.
We will also naturally incorporate early learning skills such as pre-reading, pre-writing, early math, listening, and following directions and routines.
To your child it will feel like play. But behind every activity, there will be purpose. Think of it as a tutoring session for preschoolers!
Happy Hearts is more than a place for children to play near one another.
Each activity is intentionally planned to help children practice communication, friendship skills, cooperation, emotional regulation, problem solving, and school readiness.
The class is led by a NYS-certified Special Education Teacher with more than 20 years of experience working in a variety of classrooms and learning environments.
Your child will receive gentle guidance and support during the moments when real learning happens-waiting for a turn, asking to join, solving a problem, expressing a feeling, or trying again.
That is exactly why small supportive groups can be so helpful. Your child will never be expected to fit into one mold. Some children jump right in, while others need time to observe, feel safe, and build trust. Happy Hearts is designed to meet children where they are. We will use predictable routines, encouragement, movement, play, and individualized support to help each child feel successful.
The skills practiced at Happy Hearts are the same skills children use during preschool, kindergarten, playdates sports, family gatherings, and everyday routines.
Children will work on expressing their needs, managing frustration, listening, taking turns, making friends, solving problems, and participating in a group.
Families will also receive simple ideas and language they can use at home so the learning does not stop when class ends.
When children fell understood, capable, and connected, they are better prepared to learn- and their confidence and grow far beyond the classroom.
Follow our simple 3-step process below to register your child into our classes!
